Hello, my name is Helen Chang, and I am the Office Assistant at Jellick Elementary School. I began working with Rowland Unified School District in May 2016 and joined the Jellick family in January 2018.

In my role, I support the front office with day-to-day operations and also serve as a bridge for our Mandarin-speaking families. This part of my work is especially close to my heart. Growing up, my parents didn’t speak English, and I remember how difficult it was for them to communicate with my school or understand how to support me. When I needed help, they wanted so badly to be involved, but the language barrier often left them feeling helpless. That memory has stayed with me throughout my life.

Because of that experience, I’m passionate about making sure none of our Mandarin-speaking families feel left out or disconnected from their child’s education. I want every parent to feel welcomed, understood, and empowered to be an active part of their child’s learning journey.

My office hours are 8 AM - 3:30 PM Monday to Friday.
