Rowland Unified Showcase Event Saturday May 16

at New Rowland Heights Community Center

The Rowland Unified School District presents a special RUSD Showcase Event on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new Rowland Heights Community Center at Pathfinder Park. The event will feature student displays, presentations and entertainment from every school across the District, including an arts exhibition by Nogales and Rowland High School advanced art students, and demonstrations of Robotics, Science Olympiad and specialty music and drama programs. School and District program information booths along with family resources, services and summer programs for the community will also be available.Food Trucks: Enjoy Austyn's Fresh Burger & Fries Twitter.com/AustynsBurger and Paradise Cookies & Ice Cream.

            Transportation: Free courtesy shuttles will be offered at Rowland High School every 15 minutes starting at 9:30 a.m. in the main parking lot. (RHS is located at 2000 S. Otterbein Ave., Rowland Heights). Courtesy shuttles will also be available to transport families to Pathfinder Park with pick-up locations at Hurley Elementary (535 S. Dora Guzman, La Puente), Giano Intermediate (3223 S. Giano Ave. West Covina) and Nogales High School (401 S. Nogales Street, La Puente) in front of the school (at flag pole).

            The RUSD Showcase Event is made possible by Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe and Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation, as part of the grand opening festivities for the new Rowland Heights Community Center.

*Center Lobby: RUSD Art Exhibition Now-May 28: Art Exhibit (Ceramics/Painting/Drawing/Photography)All Levels of Art from Students from Nogales, Rowland and Santana High Schools.

*Fitness Room: Student Demonstrations from Shelyn Elementary, Villacorta Elementary and Telesis Academy with Robotics and from Jellick Elementary Science Olympiad and from Northam Elementary Macaroni Cart Races.

*Arts & Crafts Room: Rowland Adult Education Demonstrations: Zumba, Reflexology, Cake Decorating/Fondant, Folkdance, Yoga/Pilates, and Scrapbooking.
